ACADEMY RIBBON CURRICULUM

Riding achievement, guiding students from first ride to refined mastery.

  • Rainbow Level

Introduction to Riding, Safety, and Confidence

The Rainbow Level is an introductory level for young riders aged 4+ who are not yet able to ride and care for a horse independently. It introduces the foundations of horsemanship through simple, confidence-building exercises that emphasize safety, awareness, and control. At this level, riders focus on becoming comfortable around horses — learning to handle, mount, and ride with basic balance and communication.

  • Red Level

Foundation in Safety, Confidence, and Control

The Red Level marks the beginning of the EquiPoint Ribbon Curriculum — where riders build essential groundwork in horsemanship, safety, and confidence both in and out of the saddle. This stage focuses on understanding the fundamentals of horse handling, correct posture, and developing a respectful partnership between rider and horse.

  • Yellow Level

Progression in Balance, Awareness, and Care

The Yellow Level builds upon the strong foundation of the Red Level, focusing on improved balance, posture, and connection between horse and rider. At this stage, students refine transitions, control, and rhythm — learning to ride with increasing independence and understanding.

  • Green Level

    Confidence, Consistency, and Canter Work

The Green Level marks a key transition from foundational riding to true athletic partnership. Riders gain control at all gaits, learning to maintain balance and rhythm while cantering, navigating ground poles, and beginning small jumps.

  • Blue Level

    Refinement, Rhythm, and Readiness

The Blue Level focuses on refinement — teaching riders to apply precision, rhythm, and timing in every stride. At this stage, riders strengthen their seat, develop steady contact, and build confidence over gymnastic grids and small courses.

  • Orange Level

    Performance, Independence, and Show Readiness

At the Orange Level, riders evolve into independent, thinking horsemen. Training becomes more self-directed, and the partnership between horse and rider is refined for performance, precision, and show-ring success.

  • Purple Level

    Mastery, Precision, and Competitive Focus

The Purple Level challenges riders to refine precision, responsiveness, and feel at a professional standard. The relationship between horse and rider becomes one of true harmony, control, and awareness.

  • Black Level

    Leadership, Expertise, and True Horsemanship

The Black Level is the pinnacle of the EquiPoint Ribbon Curriculum — the stage where skill meets stewardship. Riders at this level demonstrate complete independence in the saddle, deep understanding of training theory, and leadership in the equestrian community.

"Confidence is built one stride at a time, when trust replaces fear and learning becomes second nature."
